I am 25 years old. I recently graduated from a graduate school. I'm currently working as a nanny for a wonderful family. I'm available for occasional sittings or if you need someone a few hours a week in the morning and such. I have been babysitting since the age of 15. I also have three younger brothers whom I often cared for up until two summers ago. Also, I have been hired to watch children of all ages, 6 months old up to checking on 15-year-olds, both on Long Island and in Manhattan. My previous responsibilities have included, but were not limited to preparing meals, light cleaning, picking up and dropping off from school, helping with homework and projects, and supervising play dates. I've always been very artistic, so arts and crafts is my favorite activity. Throughout college, I participated in a workshop on the weekends for autistic children. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology, including a focus in Child and Developmental Psychology and minor in Art History. I recently completed my Masters in Mental Health Counseling.

Christina worked for me during the months of May-August. I would have loved to continue to employ Christina, however, she went back to the city to resume school. First and foremost my daughter loved Christina (or Chrissiny as my daughter called her). She looked to forward to seeing Christina and even drew Christina a few times when drawing mommy and daddy on her easel (guess Christina became part of the family). This is a good sign that the sitter takes good care of your child. Christina is very loving and she appeared to genuinely care about my child and her well being.
Christina is very responsible. She was always on time. She was also very flexible and accommodating which was a big help as my job occasionally caused me to be late. She even once pushed back her plans because I got stuck at work. She is very dedicated and a sweet person.
It's also important to note that Christina doesn't just sit and watch TV, she interacts with the child she is watching. My daughter is 2.5 years old. Christina engaged her in activities appropriate for her age. She played puzzles with her, read to her, played learning games on my daughter's Innotab with her and played hide and seek, etc. She even taught my daughter how to ride a tricycle and to boot sent me a video text message of it at work (which surely put a huge smile on my face). I had also began potty training my during the time that Christina sat for me and she was a big part in maintaining the new behavior.
Overall, as stated I would love to have Christina continue to babysit for me but unfortunately she returned to the city. My husband and I strongly recommend her and we will use her again whenever she returns to Long Island.
