I stayed at my mother's home to care for her in her last days. I took care of everything she wanted and needed. I did her laundry, cleaned the house, cooking her meals, giving prescriptions as needed, kept current with the doctor's appointments, and transportation to where ever she wanted. Got her out in the sunshine when possible. I also worked at an assisted living facility where they schooled us on how to interact with people who had dementia. Trying to give someone quality of life and being a companion gives me the most gratification a person can have.
