Greetings! I have raised three boys in a traditional home with lots of sit-down family meals. My experience with Seniors began when we brought my husband's mother Eloise to live with us. Having her with us was a wonderful experience for us all. On a day-to-day basis, I began to understand Senior challenges and how to handle them. Then I had the opportunity to bring my mother from Naples to live near me in St. Louis and be her full-time caregiver. I provided Med management, handled her doctor's appointments, cooked daily well-rounded meals, helped with her showers and daily hygiene, as well as provided hours of aloud book-reading, movie-watching, cookie-baking and get-out-for-a-Drive companionship.
Through all this I realized that caring for others is what I do best and is most rewarding to me. Seeing seniors happy and fulfilled is the goal. Mom always said, "Getting old ain't for sissies".... but it was a blessing to have been able to be there for her through the challenges.
