About Caitlin

I am a 2011 college graduate from Towson University in Maryland. I have had the experience of student teaching in many different locations throughout Maryland. I was fortunate enough to be able to teach every subject in grades 1-5 during my three years there. I spent time in a 5th grade classroom in the Inner City of Baltimore, and finished my final internship senior year in Bel Air, Maryland teaching 1st and 3rd grade. Since it is quite difficult to get a teaching job on the Island right now, I spend my days subbing in Suffolk County when jobs are available, and I waitress some nights throughout the week. I spent the last year working as a nanny for two young girls, one 4-year-old in preschool, one 6-year-old in first grade, as well as their 3-year-old brother who was in preschool. I spent the afternoon working with the children on homework, test prep, handwriting, and reading. I am extremely creative and find that the more creativity you use to teach, the more interesting learning can be. I am a strong believer that with teaching, comes learning, and I find that children are always teaching me something new!
