I am currently nannying for two different families, one during the week and the other on the weekends. My weekday family includes 3-year-old twins and a 5-year-old. I have been with them since September 2012 but they unfortunately have decided to move to the suburbs this June. My weekend family also has 3-year-old twins, a 2-year-old and 4-year-old; I have been with them since March 2012. With both being large families, my job is to offer a helping hand to the parents while also being comfortable watching the children on my own. I love to be outdoors, take the kids to classes and do plenty of crafts! Before my nanny position, I spent a year as an infant teacher at a daycare center where I had the opportunity to care for infants 6 weeks-15 months old. I watched up to seven infants at a time, including several premature babies and a set of twins. I feel privileged to have played an important role in each child's specific development and progress. This experience has trained me to recognize common infant illnesses, provide aid within each stage, such as teething, and how to react in certain emergencies. Through daily communication, I have learned to create healthy relationships and build trust within each parent. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I am now in my second year of a dual master's degree program from Erikson Institute and Loyola University. I will receive my MS in Child Development, with a specialization in infancy this May and will earn my Master's in Clinical Social work next May. With my education and internship experiences, I am working towards becoming a therapist who works with mothers with postpartum depression and anxiety along with their infants. I am looking to find a loving family who needs help this summer from May-August. I will also be taking classes which only allows me to work 4 days a week. I will be available Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 8-5 p.m. I am always looking to pick up extra hours on the weekends as well! I am only able to work until the end of August, as this is the time I will start my fall classes and internship. I am CPR/First Aid certified and would be happy to provide references!
