I started babysitting at the age of 13 watching two children (1 and 3) whose parents were from Turkey and learning the American culture. I was with the family for almost three years in California, until my family and I moved to Council Bluffs. There, I finished high school and got my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). I did two years at a community college, working as a CNA and graduating with my AA. From there, I took classes for elementary education (babysitting on the side for various families with children ranging from newborn to 5 years of age. One child had a cleft lip and speech problems and another had a nebulizer). I started nursing school and while getting my generals done, I worked as a daycare provider working as the school age teacher over the summer (5-12 years of age), and during the school year, I was the preschool teacher (3-5 years of age). There, I made detailed lesson plans. Starting in April 2010, I worked as a nanny with a family with a 4-year-old boy. For the past two years, I have worked with two nanny agencies doing on call/temp work for many different types of families. I currently work in NY as a full time nanny for a 3-year-old girl.

We engaged Brittanie to look after our 8 month old baby for two months while visiting New York from Australia. Brittanie was outstanding in her care of him and even though we had previously never left him with anyone who wasn't family, we instantly felt at ease with Brittanie.
She is honest, caring and affectionate with our baby, very capable in terms of administering proper care for a baby who was teething and then experiencing a bad cold.
The other great thing about Brittanie is that she is very easy to deal with. She is a very good communicator as well as being punctual and proactive.
If you are fortunate enough to have Brittanie care for your children, I am sure you will be very happy with the experience.
