Growing up, I was constantly around children and frequently babysat my nieces and nephews. I moved to Washington D. C. one summer to care solely for my infant niece and young nephew. I have babysat children from ages infant to 10 years old. During college, I gained a great deal of experience working with and taking care of children, both children who were typically developing and children with special needs, as I studied to become a teacher. I had a great deal of field experiences in the schools and student taught for a year. I earned my bachelor's degree in Special Education with endorsements in both Special Education (K-12) and Regular Education (K-8). Currently, I am a special education teacher and have been for 4 years. I teach children who are in grades K through 2nd who have a medical diagnosis of autism. I love my job because I love children! They bring joy and laughter to my life :) In order to gain some extra cash, I cannot think of a better way to spend my time than being around children!
