I was a certified nursing assistant for 17 years, where I worked in a nursing home setting. I started as a housekeeper, but believe I was able to give some extra attention and love to the elderly, so I began classes and received my certificate. I've worked between all shifts so I have quite a bit of background experience with all aspects of elderly care. During that time both, I and the resident enjoyed our time together listening to each stories, going out for walks, or at dinner. A few days a week I was appointed to drive them to not only do errands but to go to their doctors. My schedule is very flexible so I would even go to visit on my days off just to check up on them to make sure all is well and bring my elderly father with me, he likes to talk to the clients and it's great if there's a male or husband as they talk for hours over coffee. I was always a nurturer even when I was young, every summer from when I was 5 I would go live with my grandparents and help.
