I have had a passion for helping people ever since I was a young child. Throughout my teens I babysat and spent summers volunteering with my mom at the Sonoma Developmental Center. During that time I realized how rewarding it was to be involved with the care of those who were unable to fully provide care for themselves. That experience helped me decide that I wanted to devote my life to helping others. I began my career at UCSF in the Operating Room as a Patient Care Assistant. I worked as a Technician in the ER at Ochsner Hospital while I was getting my degree at Tulane. My work at New Dawn as a Program Coordinator helped solidify my desire to work one on one with people. I have spent the last two years working as a caretaker and personal assistant to a man with multiple health issues, including HIV, Stroke and Diabetes. I really enjoyed building a trusting bond with him and helping with his day to day activities. I was rewarded by seeing his daily improvement through my care.
