I have a 14-year-old little sister, that was born with multiple disabilities. She was born with a cleft palate, cleft lip, a tumor in her back (which was removed when she was younger,) legally blind and deaf, and only a fourth of her brain functioning. Since she was born, I have been the closest to her in our family, being that I was the only one that understood her. Because of her, I am very passionate and patient with children with special needs, and also because of her, she inspired me to work towards my career, which is wanting to be a nurse in a pediatrician's office. Also when I was in high school, I would volunteer to help with the special needs students during my off periods, and also volunteered with the special Olympics team.
