As far as my paid experience, I watched one of my former teacher's children. They were 5 and 3 years old. I watched them throughout the school years. I also watched my sister-in-laws little sister. I would take her on picnics at the park and play games with her.
I have one niece and two nephews. The oldest is turning seven, the middle child is turning 5, and youngest will be turning three this year. Because they live with me, I've been able to watch them grow and have been fortunate enough to learn about childcare. I babysit countless times for my brother and sister-in-law whenever they have date nights as well. I often times take them to the park, outside in the back, make them dinner, watch movies, etc. I've learned a lot because all of them have grown up differently with distinct needs. Whenever I was home for breaks, I would help my niece with homework from math to reading and writing.
