I began working with children with special needs in 2003 at a summer camp. At the camp, I started as a volunteer working with multiple age groups, and eventually found a strong desire to work with children. I worked my way to a supervisory position, caring for and managing a maximum of 13 children with various special needs and their counselors. I have always loved helping individuals reach their maximum potential which is why I enjoy working with individuals with special needs. I love to make children smile and feel included. I have many years of experience with individuals of varying needs, including, Cerebral palsy, Autism, seizure disorders, quadriplegia, trachs, g-tubes, oppositional defiance disorders, OCD, and many others. I am a quick learner, compassionate, understanding, patient, energetic, reliable, and outgoing. I am currently working for a software company in Carrollton, as well as attending evening classes a couple nights a week, with the intent of applying to nursing school by the end of the year.
