I currently work in a structured teach classroom (special needs) teaching low and high functioning students with Autism. Through the school district, I have a current background check completed. I have training in CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute). I utilize research based teaching for students with autism spectrum disorder which includes Applied Behavior Analysis. Communication techniques that I have taught include sign language (ASL), Proloquo2go and ABLLS-R. I also have experience with general care for infants - seniors. I will be available to work late afternoons, evenings and weekends.

We recently hired Amy to babysit our autistic 3 year old and our typical 1 year old. The boys took to her immediately! We also have two big dogs that can be a bit overwhelming for some people but Amy calmly managed all the excitement as we ran out the door. Amy is communicative, punctual and very knowledgeable about Autism. Our 3 year old has only been cared for by family until now as he has significant communication delays and some behavioral issues. I was hesitant to use Care.com at first but we're thrilled to find Amy. He was hugging her before we even finished our meet-and-greet interview! We went on our first date night in months and I was able to relax knowing our kids were in goods hands. We look forward to hiring her more in future!
