I worked for 3 months at Community Haven as a house parent overnight on the weekends in Feb of 2013. From there I worked privately for a family that I had met at Community Haven for the past two years before their child was placed into a group home. We would play games, do sensory activities, prepare meals, hygiene care, help the young adult get ready for bed. It was a very rewarding job and I enjoyed the pace of working with a special needs young adult.
