About Aliya

Experience: 2 yrs

I have been babysitting children periodically from the time I was 13 years old and have experience watching children from as young as two years, to as old as 12. During my time at Smith College, I assisted five days a week at a local elementary school in Northampton, MA, where I supervised 1st and 2nd-grade children. My duties included preparing them for lunch, reading chapter books, facilitating transitions between activities and maintaining general order amongst the classes. Additionally, on Wednesdays when the children were released from school at noon, I assisted with an after school program where I engaged students in a variety of activities, such as baking, knitting, art projects and science experiments for an extended (five hour) period. I am fluent in French and would be happy to speak it with the children I babysit.

Aliya watched our 4-year-old for an evening and it was a great experience. She was responsive, polite, on time and took our daughter's bedtime protests in stride. Maybe most important, our daughter had a great time with her. We plan to hire her again.
