I work with both children and adults with special needs. I have completed a 12 course series on autism through the Geneva Center for Autism. I also work for a non-profit assisting adults with intellectual disabilities. I have experience with assertive technology in the form of iPad apps and also make a great visual schedule or choice board on a white board. You might be amazed at what your child can do with iReadWrite, TouchChat, or VoiceDream at their fingertips. I am a para-educator at a middle school with a great community based instruction program. I can help your child safely navigate the community for some fun summer activities. I'd be more than happy to integrate academic activities into the schedule along with life skills if that's your wish. I love helping people problem solve and do their best. It is very fulfilling for me to teach someone something they thought they would never be able to do. With a little patience and a good attitude, you can go a long way.
