I worked at Developmental Services of Franklin County in Union, MO for 10 months. I worked with a lot of different people which means I worked with a variety of physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. My responsibilities ranged from housecleaning, to running errands and taking my clients into the community so they could build a strong relationship with the world and also work to live on their own. I administered meds and overseen clients on a 24 hour basis to maintain their safety and health. I also prepared meals and did all hygiene depending on the client. Another big responsibility was to be trained in PBS skills 1, 2, & 3 so I could help know the difference and how to handle situations with each different client. Another job I have currently is with Heartland Independent Living Center. I work as a home caregiver for a disabled person. I cook, clean and take care of this persons hygiene. I take care of my time sheet and also run errands as my client sees fit. I have been in this position with Heartland since August of 2014.
