About who needs care: My dad needs assistance with meal prep, drinking water & not so much sugar. He also desperately needs encouragement for showering. As his only daughter (husband and I lifted our lives out of San Jose last June to help my dad who's on his Alzheimer's journey. He is highly resistant to opening up to me - I think he doesn't want to see me worry. I have taken over all the finances, we do all the cooking. He still drives (no more than a few miles away), but we are coming close to the end of his license simply due to the fact that he has no memory retention. The short term memory is struggling to stay with him. He gets frustrated and I believe he is in denial of the reality of his condition. Husband and I need help. We are both working remotely full time which is proving impossible here at my dad's house -- Looking for options ASAP. Thank you and have a great day, Nicole
About the care needs: i'm not sure, but I think my dad might be better with a male. Someone confident, patient, strong, kind & probably a little intuitive since he doesn't express emotions very well. Dad does play handball and likes sports (we watch a ton of soccer since my husband is a big fan, that seems to be fun for him)
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
