Seeking care for my mother in her 80s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active, mobility assistance, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 7+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, nursing experience, support for memory care.
A little more about my mother: she can be anxious, pleasant. My mother has advanced Lewy Body Dementia. Mom can walk and climb a few steps with assistance. She also has an Ostomy bag that needs emptying 3 times a day and changing 3 times a week. She has a live in aide who is away now and may have to be away days or a week at a time on a fairly regular basis. We need to cover her time off. At minimum it would be two days a week but right now, for example, the aide is away for a week and we have no coverage. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm. We need an experienced caregiver who can deal with an Ostomy bag or who is willing to learn. We need someone who is experienced with memory care, is very kind, patient and gentle. Our ideal caregiver would make conversation but understand when it is time to be quiet as well. Mom benefits from going out for drives with her caregiver almost daily. She likes visiting family and going to restaurants from time to time.
