My name is Jenna, and this is not a typical resume. I rather tell you about myself and my background then you decide the next step. I have 10+ years experience as a nanny/babysitter, you can say I have the best experience because I am a mom myself. I'm fluent in English, I was born here in Brooklyn. Through the years, I have worked with children from newborns as young as 5 weeks to age 17. I have experience with twins, to special needs children as well. I have a can do attitude. I'm a great asset to first time parents. Why do I love being a nanny/babysitter? Because I know I make a difference in the lives of the little ones I come in contact with. What a joy to know I've been a positive influence in their lives forever - even long after I am gone. I love seeing a child's smile when they learn something new, hear a new sound, even better when I'm the person responsible for that. A child's giggle is the best sound in the room. In my opinion a screen is not a babysitter for a child no matter what the age, you should always have crafts, music, games, toys, walks, go to a museum, zoo, a park, and story time for them. Stimulation is growth. People forget that now with all the technology we have. Singing and talking to babies as well is also a wonderful way to teach them and stimulate their senses. Working as a nanny, there are endless moments to teach through exploration, discovery, observation, sensation, and performance. I seize every opportunity to expose the children to new activities and experiences which would be of the greatest benefit to them. So to sum it up a nanny wears many different hats every day here is my definition: Nanny (nah-nee) n. childcare provider, activities director, teacher, dresser, beautician, nutritionist, chef, hygienist, janitor, nurse, dramatic reader, performer, entertainer, costume-maker, arts-and-crafts instructor, dance partner, stroller pusher, personal shopper, secretary, historian, detective, confidant, companion, counselor, coach, body-guard, self-defense instructor, tutor, cheerleader, appreciative audience, hugger, boo-boo kisser, potty trainer, learner, listener, helper, arbiter, peace-keeper, honorary extended-family member, life-long influence, shaper of the future, the list is endless and like I said changes to each child/families needs.
