Garnet Valley Mother's Helpers

My name is Abbie and I recently graduated from Muhlenberg College, where I majored in Dance and Business. Over the past few years, I have worked as a mother's helper, nanny, and a regular babysitter for children aged infant to preteen. Each family I have worked for has had more than one child. I am comfortable changing diapers, preparing meals, getting kids ready for bed, providing transportation, helping with household chores, and I am CPR certified. My niece is being raised in my household, so I have been consistently providing childcare for the past 5 years. Having her in the house from when she was first born has given me confidence in caring for infants. I consider myself patient, reliable, and compassionate. Hello! My name is Amara. During the months of the year when schools are in session, I am the director of a Before and After School program that caters to the local elementary school and a preschool that is housed in the same building. I am a student at West Chester University in Pennsylvania and majoring in Psychology. However, I have been told that I should change to early childhood education because I have a "natural affinity" to childcare. I have been a babysitter in the past and before that I also worked as a mother's helper. I am certified in CPR and First Aid and I have been trained in Fire Safety as well. I have always loved caring from children- starting as a mother's helper when I was 11 to a professional career as a New York City 1st and 2nd grade teacher for five years and elementary school administrator for the last 10.
