We are looking for a woman who can help us raise our kids in a religious/ faith-filled environment. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormons). We would like to have a nanny who is the same faith as us, but are open to others are are very active in their church communities and living lives in accordance with their faith's teachings.
We have a 2-year-old happy little boy. He has a calm temperament, can play alone, but loves to do social things. He especially loves reading (which we want to encourage), cars & trains, and being outside. Our 6-month-old little girl is the calmest and happiest baby I have ever seen. She is usually content just entertaining herself or watching her brother for long periods of time.
We need someone at least 3 days a week 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., with the possibility of adding another day or two sometimes. It would be nice if you could occasionally travel with me for work (2-5 trips a year). Schedule is pretty flexible if you need to switch days or need to leave early sometimes.
Live-in or -out. We have a separate, furnished 3 bedroom basement apartment. Two single women rent the other bedrooms. So there is a shared living room, kitchen and bathroom with them. The room won't be available until mid-January if you want it.
Pay is flexible depending on experience, but looking to pay around $13-18/hour.
We are in Alexandria, VA (between Old Town and Mt. Vernon), not far from the Parkway and lots of fun trails. We do have an extra car that can be used most of the time, but we prefer that you have a reliable, insured car in case both of our cars are needed.
We are looking for someone who will take our kids to play groups and social activities almost daily and who can organize fun learning activities at home to help stimulate their growth and learning. We want someone who will do light housekeeping, namely, dishes, vacuum, sweep, kids' laundry, teaching kids to pick up after themselves, etc. We also want someone who can do some healthy, nutritious cooking at least twice a week. We will of course provide all of the food for the meals, and can provide meals/snacks for you too during the day. Occasionally, there will be errands that we'll need your help with - such as dropping off at metro, etc.
