I have always had an affection for the elderly. I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's 2011 and enjoy taking care of elderly people like my grandmother was taken care of by the wonderful people in the home she was in. This past Saturday, I lost my best friend, 2 days of her 88th birthday. I had taken care of her and her late husband for almost 3 years and I can honestly say that other than my family, she is the best thing that ever happened to me. When I began working with her and her husband, she had just recently been diagnosed with dementia and her husband had "undiagnosed" dementia. I began part time and as their needs grew I went to full-time, then hired other caregivers to come in to assist when we went to 24/7 care and then hired even more caregivers when she became a 2 assist.
I am seeking an elderly companion or two, who I hope to care for until their time to leave us. I am very dependable and as your loved ones needs increase, I have trusted caregivers that I have worked with for years, that I can call on.
Prior to taking the position with her , I worked in several facilities and ultimately left facility work to do private in home care. because I couldn't stand seeing residents neglected because of budgets or lazy caregivers that were just their for a paycheck. I pride myself in caring for my clients as if they are my family.
