Future Elementary School Teacher Seeking Babysitting Experience!
My experience with caring for children started when I was in middle school, sitting for my younger cousins. When I was a senior in high school, I was a weekend sitter for two families who had daughters in elementary school. I went to a private Christian school for K-12th grade so, for my elective class senior year, I was a first grade teacher's aide. During this hour, I tutored the children mostly with math and reading. I was also employed by the private Christian school I attended as a before and after-school care attendant. I would supervise the children as they were being dropped off in the morning, making sure they made it to their class line, and after school I would supervise the children during snack, homework and play time while they waited to be picked up. I was also a reading tutor during homework time. During this time of babysitting and tutoring, I discovered my passion for working with children. I volunteered as a Vacation Bible School teacher, at my church, for eight years and was the senior high youth Sunday school teacher for a year. During the summer of 2008, I was a nanny for a 5-year-old boy with mild special needs for 30 hours a week. I am a recent college graduate, where I earned a BS in Early Childhood Education (EC-6th, ESL). I also hold a current Texas Teaching Certificate. I am currently a substitute teacher. If there are any other questions you may have regarding my experience, please contact me and I will be glad to answer them for you in a timely manner. Thank you for your consideration! I am interested in sitting for children to increase my experience in order to benefit my future career as an elementary school teacher!
