I'd describe myself as unapologetically me. I'm extremely open minded, very true to myself, and thrive on having a positive outlook towards life. I have a very fun and spunky personality; many would describe me as goofy. Although I may be goofy, I see it as an assist to my skill set. My other skills include positive, gentle parenting techniques, providing age appropriate activities and opportunities that support the growth of the individual, and being able to openly and effectively communicate to whomever I talk to. I have my certification and degree in therapeutic recreation, along with a disability studies certificate. I've always loved helping others, and now I have the education and experience to further my passion. Building rapport, being able to actively provide positive impacts, and supporting others in being them best selves are truly the best benefits of being a care giver in my opinion.

Experienced Elder Caregiver
It has been a joy to meet the needs of elders and in turn receive the wisdom they have shared in our rapport. I have enjoyed caregiving since 1995 and elder caregiving for eight years. I have maintained a close working relationship with clients and their families. Responsibilities have included medication management, doctor visits and calls, physical therapy directives, transportation to appointments, errands, social visits with friends and family, companionship, meal preparation, housekeeping, entertaining guests, outdoor activity, shopping, and assistance with mobility. I am a graduate of Ripon College, with a Religion major and Art minor, have completed Thesis work in Education, Teaching Methods in the Catholic vs. Public School. I have early childhood coursework completed, and formerly taught Montessori in Riverwoods, IL, subsequently I have worked as a caregiver on the north shore as well as the northwest suburbs.

Additionally, proof of COVID vax (both doses) is a requirement. We're ideally looking for a long term commitment (2yrs, possibly more), so if you're looking to become part of the family, let's schedule a time to chat.
