The job requires help with personal care for an adult male living with paralysis from a spinal cord injury. It requires an understanding of paralysis and the needs of a person who is a Quad; level C5-C6, complete. Duties require transferring to bed; bowel program and shower in the morning; assistance with meals; administering medications (daily pills); random tasks such as shifting and adjusting the body in a power wheelchair. Also requires an awareness of dysreflexia and how it affects the body. Physical strength is ideal. A love of sports would be great. Due to the job and social life of the person in need of care, transporting him in his accessible van might be necessary now and then. The time frame for the overnight care would be Saturdays from 5:30 p.m. to Sundays at 5:30 p.m. (24 hours), weekly.
