I am looking for a positive, mature and patient young adult to support my son this summer. My son is a bright and caring boy who loves science, Legos and books. He has high functioning autism and is very comfortable playing or reading by himself. This summer, instead of having him attend camps, we are doing our own version of camp - creating plans for each day that incorporate both preferred activities and new experiences that stretch my son towards independence. Activities will include going to the library, learning to ride the bus, swimming lessons, and weekly trips to a museum or science center. Each day will be structured and planned with a schedule, with time for exploration and connection with others along the way. You should be reliable, steady and a good communicator. Ideally, you have experience with kids on the spectrum.
