About who needs care: I am looking into options for my 79-year-old mother. She had a very bad fall in September and fractured her neck in 3 places. Since then she had a cervical fusion. She spent about 2 weeks in the hospital, then did a 21 day rehab stay, and now she has been discharged to her home with PT and OT coming in weekly. We are looking for a sitter to be with her around 8am-12 p.m. Mon-Fri. if that is possible. Also, I am not sure if our budget would work for this service. We are also in the beginning discussions with her to express our concern with having more help. It is becoming very difficult for me and my sister to manage this along with our families and full-time job. Any additional information you could give about our scenario would be greatly appreciated. About the care needs: Someone with a pleasant personality that is friendly. No specialized skills needed. Recovering from a cervical fusion. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
