About who needs care: Dad has stage 4 renal cell carcinoma. He currently is having knee and leg pain preventing him from being mobile and going to the bathroom independently. He takes meds that I manage and could just need help transferring to the bathroom or bedside commode and just someone to be around when I am at work. He has vascular dementia but there are rarely symptoms and he is stubborn and does not like to eat sometimes. He is otherwise an independent 62-year-old that is just sick. He has stopped chemo and does not require any oxygen or other medical interventions. He just needs someone around and to talk to and be there if he needs something or to change him if needed and help with tasks. Before this last round of being in the hospital, he likes to get up and drink his coffee and watch a show or movie, usually western or big bang theory. He loves 70s music and everything about entertainment. About the care needs: Someone who has a good sense of humor and very dry and sarcastic that he can joke with. He is stubborn. He loves to talk about politics and actors and entertainment industry and watch shows and movies. He would enjoy some cool guy that just sees him as another person and not some old man that needs help and is frail Services needed include: transportation, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
