About who needs care: My mom has Alzheimers and is still able to drive and understanding of many things but doesn't keep up with housework cooking grocery shopping bathing - but she thinks she does and doesn't need help (I am doing most of these things currently). My dad has Parkinsons disease and can do many things himself but needs a walker to get around. They both basically sit around the house all day and watch TV. Dad was a carpenter and loved to golf. Mom was a nurse. Neither have any hobbies. Both liked to travel previously. About the care needs: Someone very friendly and good with small talk that has experience with Alzheimers and knows how to talk to my mom/re-direct because she will constantly say she doesn't need help and to stop doing whatever task. Maybe a nurse or someone local who knows the area/other people they may know. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship. Preference for a caregiver who is female.
