About who needs care: 93-year-old mother Needs occasional rides to dr and hair appointments, senior center, bank, post office, pick up meds, etc Good mental faculties Needs some help walking up/down stairs and long distances Shes not ready to give up her independence or her car, Her kids take her when they can; we need additional backup She lives in the family home and may enjoy some help with very minor things. A great day is knowing what she wants to do, can depend on a ride or help and return safe. About the care needs: My mom has really connected with her granddaughter she is 23, a CNA and visits her every other Friday. Light chores, errands, listening. Mom is extremely independent, has lived alone for years, lives in our family home. She has her routine, and defends it fiercely. She doesnt take well with anybody telling her what to do, hurry her along or make her make quick decisions. So we would be looking for somebody patient, who can go with her flow, do what she wants, listen without telling, adding suggestions or disagreeing. No judging her housekeeping or trying to clean and organize unless asked. It takes her a bit to trust, but once its there, things are good. We are just testing the waters here.
