About who needs care: She is a 29 yo female with a severe intellectual disability. Developmentally she is about 2. 5 years old. She has some words but is primarily non verbal. She is mobile but can't walk long distances. She can feed herself but needs help preparing her food. It is not safe to leave her alone but she can be in a different room. She cannot gove herself her meds. She is incontinent so would need help with pottying and hygiene. She needs help dressing, brushing her teeth and hair, and showering. Generally she gets up, watches whatever someone has on TV, she doesn't care what as long as its on. She is Has her meds and breakfast. Plays with her tablet (a Kids Kindle). She has to be sent to the potty periodically through the day. She eats at least 3 hours after the last time she ate due to gastroparesis, slow motility if her entire GI tract. In general getting her to do new things is hard. She does have temper tantrums from time to time, but it hasnt been too bad recently. Her caregiver must be female. And willing to become a WA state certified HCA/IP with CDWA as that is how they will get paid. About the care needs: No surgery at this time. The HCA/IP must be female as Angela responds best to females. They must have a positive attitude, be willing to deal with some noise and be willing to do some light housework. Ideally they would want to help Angela improve certain skills and willing to take her on walks from time to. time. Maybe help her get accustomed to leaving the house every now and then. It would start as part-time, weekend work, specifically Saturdays and overnight respite care from time to time. There is a possibility of more hours if they prove compatible. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
