About who needs care: My mother had a stroke and has aphasia. She can get up but needs to use her walker and needs assistance using the bathroom. She needs help with meals and working the TV. About the care needs: I think a good fit would be someone who is patient and has experience with dementia patients. My mother can occasionally get words and sentences out, but someone with the background knowledge in caregiving for patients like this would be a plus. She really just needs someone who can be her companion and make sure she is OK. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
