About who needs care: My father is 89 years old. He just got diagnosed with dementia so he has short term memory loss. He is friendly and social but has outlived most family and friends. He likes watching sports and playing the card games hearts and solitaire. He sleeps late and then has coffee and looks at the newspaper. He listens to the radio or watches TV. He has a partner that he spends time with but she does not live with him. About the care needs: His caregiver needs to be friendly and sociable. They want to be a companion as well a caregiver. Also, the caregiver needs to be able to make him a warm meal, drive him locally, take his medication, and stay active. Experience caring for people with dementia preferred. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
