I'm looking for a dependable, caring companion to help look after my 54-year-old mom. She's living with early-onset dementia, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and mild heart failure. She's funny, social, and enjoys staying active - she just needs gentle support and supervision to stay safe and on schedule. All meals, drinks, and medications will be prepped and labeled. She follows a low-sodium, diabetic-friendly diet with a 2-liter daily fluid limit, so everything is organized and easy to manage. She's independent with the bathroom and most personal care, only needing light assistance if there's a spill or mess (gloves provided). Her heart medication can make her dizzy, so she needs someone to walk nearby for safety. Medication is taken four times a day, and she has one insulin injection at night - the caregiver will either administer it or prepare the dose and ensure she injects the full amount. A detailed med list and schedule will be provided. She wears a Dexcom glucose monitor that links to my phone. You'll make sure her phone stays charged and nearby, and may occasionally perform a finger-stick reading with the provided machine. We're looking for someone who has experience with dementia. There is parking available at my home. Our family includes 1 cat and 2 large dogs.
