About who needs care: My Aunt is in her 70s and has early stage dementia, but has not fully accepted her condition. She has lived in a 1 BR appt. in Harlem for decades by herself. She is still physically able to get around on her own without any assistance. We are seeking an honest and reliable local care person who can assist her perhaps once or twice per week with tasks such as meal prep., ensuring she's bathing and eating, taking her to periodic doctor appointments, etc. My wife and I live in a different state, but are her closest family members who are coordinating her care. About the care needs: Someone who is comfortable working with early onset Alzheimers/dementia persons. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
