About who needs care: My mom had a stroke in late August and has been recovering in acute rehab since then. She is making great improvements, but needs assistance with self-care, medications, preparing and eating food, and companionship. She likely will need someone to come by twice a day. About the care needs: My mom would benefit from someone who would talk to her a bit, as her main deficiency after the stroke is in language and speech. She cannot talk but tries really hard to. She will be in various therapies in the home throughout the week but needs other care as well. She does take insulin so proficiency with injected medications would be ideal. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
