About who needs care: My nephew, Scott, is a 39 yr old Downs Syndrome man who live at Beacon Specialized Care in the Anchor Point North house. He has lived there 19 years. His mother who visited weekly passed away in Sept. She was very involved in ensuring he kept up with personal hygiene (even though the facility claims they do those things), making sure his laundry was done, and taking him on outings like movies, sporting events, etc. None of Scotts relatives nearby. We are wondering if there would be a person who could help him every week or 2. About the care needs: Scott is very sweet, but can have episodes of anger. The staff at Beacon know how to handle him If that happens. Services needed include: companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
