About who needs care: Aunt Sue has a dementia diagnosis. She needs help getting in and out of bed, up and down from sitting, getting to the bathroom. She will need to be dressed and undressed. She can walk and needs guidance with several walks throughout the day. She often walks, with a firm hand from me or another caregiver around the kitchen table while eating. She will need full cleansing wipe downs at night, she has a strict high protein diet of simple foods that will need fixed.. salmon and bison patties, boiled eggs, sardines, cultured veggies and cheese and goat kefir... basically, keep Sue eating, drinking, moving and engaged with music, human companionship... talk her through what your doing, etc. Make the day joyful. About the care needs: Ideal caregiver will be patient and Sue is about age 1 in her ability to navigate life. Ideal caregiver will understand value of nutrition and will be able to cook basic food items, ideal caregiver will need to move Sue. She's 120 pounds. She needs help getting up and down, in and out of bed. Sue requires two 20-30min walks per day and getting up every hour for a 5 min stretch and goes to bathroom every two hours. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
