About who needs care: My mom has dementia (primary progressive aphasia) and some brain scan indication of Alzheimers. She struggles with language and communication. She can no longer write and struggles verbally. She has fine and gross motor challenges and balance is definitely an issue. Im addition to dementia she has cardiovascular disease controlled through medication. She likes to exercise, read, take walks, go to the botanical garden gardens, and she loves food. She also likes theater and is politically active. An ideal day would be to come help her with her shower and getting dressed. Helping her make lunch and taking her to do errands and/or helping her with physical and speech exercises. It would also be helpful for a caregiver to help manage her medications and manage her calendar. About the care needs: They should have a great sense of humor and be kind and very patient. Bonus if they are foodies, into theater, and politics! Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
