About who needs care: My mom is 89 and lives with me, her daughter. She is mobile though a bit slow. She uses a cane at times on extended walks and sometimes a rolling walker. She can go up and down stairs with supervision. She enjoys watching movies especially Spanish classics from Mexicos golden film era. She likes working a on word searches and reading. She was recently diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia due ti Alzheimers. Her short term memory comes and goes and likes to tell stories from her youth, though she does tend to repeat herself. She is a light eater. She doesnt prepare any meals. I prefer she doesn't use the stove or microwave and take precautions to prevent that. About the care needs: Id prefer a woman that is experienced with seniors who have dealt with dementia, if possible. Has their own car to run errands or take my mom on rides to store , park or museums. Doesnt mind doing light house work to tidy up her room and wash her dishes. Engage her and play some memory games with her or color or do puzzles. Spanish speaking is a big plus but not required. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
