Seeking care for my mother in her 60s. Services needed: companionship, meal preparation, medication prompting, help staying physically active. Looking for someone with 5+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: My mother has dementia. She is only 68. She's been stable for the past 4 years. However, a decline began in her 3 weeks ago. She is completely easy going/pleasant when she is with people. However, now- the second I leave her, she becomes very anxious and scared. Hence why I am now looking for more help. She is self sufficient with the bathroom. She needs guidance for other ADL's. (She doesn't cook- I make all meals but she doesn't know how to heat up, she doesn't change her outfit on her own but will if given a new one, etc). I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, fond of pets. I need someone who my mother can see as her "friend". She is completely unaware of her dementia. I would like for someone to help keep her brain stimulated during the day. Just someone to talk to, go for a walk, etc. My mother used to love to bake and cook. She also used to play the piano and she was a 3rd grade teacher for over 30 years. She has a small friendly dog who is her world (and mine too).
