I love and connect well with children of all ages. I have been a teacher since graduating from college, and have taught from preschool up to high school, community college, university and beyond. As a preschool teacher, I particularly enjoy young children, and I will be opening my own preschool in the fall of 2017. I am reliable and responsible as well as fun and playful. I am certified in CPR (for infants & adults) and am happy to accommodate any special needs or wishes. I am able to meet your child in who they are and what they want to do. I am also open to more long-term/nanny positions. I look forward to being of service, thank you for reaching out.

Abigail took care of our twin 16 month old girls for several weeks while we were in Taos and I was working. She was so truly beyond anyone I had hoped to find. I felt so fortunate to gave found her. One of my girls was going through separation anxiety and Abbie handled it so well, putting her at ease. She had such a calm, gentle, fun manner with them, always singing to them. They warmed to her instantly and had such a wonderful time with her, swimming, dancing, reading, doing art projects. She went above and beyond, taking them to music classes. Her music and education background make her very qualified to provide a high quality experience for little ones. She also helped us as a family as we got ready to leave town, offering to run errands-again, above and beyond. Highly recommend Abigail!

We couldn't be happier and grateful to have found Maile on such short notice. My husband and I had forgotten that our normal daycare center was on holiday and we needed a babysitter for our 12 month old son the very next day. We found Maile and reached out to her the day before and luckily she was available. She is truly the best and a pro! She definitely made us feel comfortable right away and our son loved her and hanging out with her two year old daughter that she watches at the same time. Her house is a child's dream! She has a playroom set up with toys and books for babies and children of all ages. And she had a very comfy separate nap room set up for our son to sleep and baby monitor so she could keep tabs on him when he napped. Throughout the day she sent us updates and photos to let us know how he was doing and at the end of the day she sent us a thorough report of what they did during the day, what he ate, when he napped, his disposition. She even helped to trim his nails!

Preschool Teacher Available For Babysitting

I have been working as a preschool teacher since 1996, before that time I volunteered at functions and took care of the children of friends and family. I am a creative person who loves reading and doing all kinds of art projects. When it comes to finding things to do, both my years of experience and creativity come in handy. If you have never played with goop or slime on a rainy day, you don't know what you are missing. Often children consider me to be one of those "silly" teachers who isn't afraid to think on their level and raise the goofiness a little to get a smile or encourage learning or interaction. As a child care provider, my background check and police record are updated regularly through my full time employer. My First Aid and CPR are updated regularly through my full time employer. Through this employer I am also required to annually complete a certain number of course credits in early childhood development and education. My primary language is English but I have many years of experience in working with children who speak other languages and have some capability of communicating in Spanish, as well as a vocabulary of random words in languages such as Chinese, Japanese, Cherokee, and Russian. In my years of preschool I have also cared for non-identical twins as well as children with special needs, speech issues, and of various learning abilities.
