Nanny With International & Stateside Experience
My name is Kaila Yim and I am from California. I am a college graduate, 22 years old, I have a degree in Youth Ministry, and have been babysitting and nannying since I was 14. I babysat for the same two kids all throughout high school, ages 5 & 6 at that time, and absolutely loved it. I took them to the park, played a lot of games with them, cooked dinner, baked, gave them baths, and did light housekeeping.
My sophomore year of college I babysat a 7-month-old and his older 8-year-old brother. I did everything from going out with them and running errands, to cooking, taking them out in Chicago, scheduling play dates, helping with homework, and putting them to bed. I helped the 7-month-old with crawling and walking and physical therapy because he was a preemie. I did absolutely everything a mom would normally do and I loved it. I worked for them for a year and a half and then off and on for 1 year. It was one of the best babysitting experiences I have ever had. They treated me like family and I ADORED their boys.
My junior year of college I babysat a 10-month-old girl. We would play, work on her walking, and crawling, and I would read her books. After her afternoon naps we would go to a nearby park and play for an hour or so.
My senior year of college I took care of a 19-year-old girl, she has a severe case of Cerebral Palsy; she cannot function on her own in any capacity. I fed her, changed her, carried her, was a friend to her, took her out in Chicago and walked around, polished her nails, and did normal teenage girl things. She couldn't talk at all, walk, or feed herself so I learned how to communicate with her using fun little tricks. One of the BEST experiences I've ever had. I loved it tremendously.
This summer I took care of a now 5-month-old in Nepal (between China & India). Her parents are mission trip leaders and they needed a nanny while they lead a 6-8 week trip to Nepal so I agreed to do it and it has been so fun. Everything you do with a 5-month-old in the States, I've been doing, but in Nepal.
I love kids of all ages and love blessing parents who need a babysitter for ANY reason. I am qualified for this job because I love kids like they are my own and take joy in caring for them.
