My son has a global developmental delay due to cerebral palsy and an ultra rare genetic disorder. He is unable to walk unassisted, but walks well while holding hands. He is also nonverbal, but understands directions and communicates using basic and easy-to-learn baby sign language. Other than those two skills, he is otherwise just like any other two-and-a-half year old boy. Our ideal caregiver: I am looking for in-home care for my toddlers.
Throughout your time with them, you will feed them breakfast, clean up, read stories, do my daughter's "homework," oversee my son's therapy sessions (therapists will come to the home and therapy will be outside, weather permitting), visit the park or go for a walk, feed them lunch, clean up, and attempt nap time and/or put in a movie in the afternoon.
They are the sweetest and most loving children and I think anyone would enjoy working with them! Additional needs include being comfortable with pets. We could use help with homework or curriculum assistance.
