Seeking care for my grandmother in her 90s. Services needed: companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing. No prior experience required. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my grandmother: she can be pleasant. My grandma (age 90) is recovering from hip surgery which she had on June 11th. She has visiting therapists and nurses coming to her house, in addition to my Mom and I staying there and helping her. She's able to stand on her own, do transfers, and walk short distances. She also helps with household tasks. She's just started using the toilet rather than the commode and she is very determined to continue her recovery and gain back her independence. We are seeking additional help in home a few mornings a week to allow us to go back part time to work. Before the fall, Grandma lived mostly on her own, but with visits from Mom and I and my family all the time. She loves her pets- she has a dog and cats- and loves to watch game shows, she's involved at church (all over the phone now), do crafts, talk on the phone, and fuss with her hair! I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, fond of pets. We are looking for someone who will help Gram dress her lower body/get ready for the day, get her some breakfast, change her depend, if she needs it, help with getting to the toilet/ commode, remind her to take her pills, play cards with her, talk to her about her pets, tell her about your life/kids/pets. Before the fall on June 10th, Gram was so independent- but she's still recovering and our family- particularly my Mom and I are looking for help/some time away to get back to our work.
