Seeking care for my father in his 80s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience. A little more about my father: he can be pleasant, grouchy, outgoing. 86 years old, he suffers from congestive heart failure and diabetes. He has balance and mobility issues. Most of the time he's a great guy, but does get frustrated at times. He loves watching sports, reading, and drawing. He would need assistance if he needs/wants to get up at night. I'm looking for someone who is patient, firm, strong. Strong enough to pick him up or haul him out of bed if needed. Someone who will help him get settled for the night, and be there for him. This would give my mom great peace of mind. Dad is at the point where he is needing more assistance than Mom can provide. He (they) would like to remain in their home for as long as possible. Change can be very upsetting to him, so having him at home would be great as long as Mom has help with him, primarily overnight, so she can get rest, too.
