My parents are in need of a live-in caregiver. Mom, 89, 6 years post stroke affecting her cognition and short term memory. They need additional daily care and housekeeping to fill in the widening gaps as they age.
The right person is extremely "patient"; has a cheery disposition creating a friendly, warm environment; understands the concept of redirection and will employ them during any outbursts; works on Mom and Dad's sense of time, not their own.
I prefer a person with 3-5 years of experience with dementia patients, however, it is more important to have a person who understands the situation, is flexible, kind and willing to learn how to integrate smoothly into their lives.
Prior to applying please understand you will be asked to sign a caregivers contract, submit to a background check/drug test.
Thank you Kindly for your interest.
