ADHD Tutor - Research, Writing, English/Language Arts, History, Psychology, Philosophy, ESL
Working with youth has been part of my life since I was a youth myself. During college, I was an orientation leader and resident adviser (3+ years), helping young men and women transition into college by utilizing my experiences and education to appropriately guide them. In my main hobby, singing barbershop music, I am a director of Youth in Harmony - my job is to bring young people together to experience barbershop music, general music education, and camaraderie with other. I have been tutoring/teaching/academic advising for 4+ years at the college level, focusing on research and writing skills. I also have experience working with younger students as a group home counselor (high school Math, History, Vocabulary, English, etc.) and in various independent tutoring opportunities through family, friends, and school programs. My specialties are: English, Writing, Research organization and formatting, Statistics (SPSS), Social Sciences (History, Sociology, Psychology, etc.). I have also worked with a few clients on general mentoring and social skill building. I am involved in music (barbershop Capella) and am an avid sports fan. I am even knowledgeable of all those video games your children likely play! I have extensive experience working with students with ADHD, bipolar, and other various mood disorders. You don"t have to be frustrated! I can help! It can be very challenging to coach students with the aforementioned struggles; the key is presenting the information to them in a way that is not intimidating, cumbersome, or more than they can handle in a given time-frame. Learning is fun and when students are able to realize that they can succeed, they will find their focus and thrive. I am flexible with pay and am willing to travel. I currently live in Stockton, CA and am willing to travel. Feel free to contact me via email at your convenience or by phone between the hours of 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Thank you, and I look forward to speaking with you.
