Full Time
About who needs care: Two parents. My mother is in her 80's and has been the primary caregiver for my dad, but a recent health crisis makes that impossible. Both are still fairly independent. My mom has moderate dementia and has had a stroke recently, but it didn't significantly affect her physical abilities. After some rehab, she will probably resume her active lifestyle. My dad has a stubborn wound that he is receiving care for. He moves slowly and with the assistance of a walker or cane, but can still mostly take care of himself.
They wake up around 8:00-8:30 a.m. and go to bed around 11:00 p.m. My mom likes to sew and craft, and wants to begin scrap booking. My dad is a retired engineer whose hobbies included golf and building RC airplanes, but now he pretty much watches TV all day. They have frequent doctors appointments and their schedules pretty much revolve around them.
About the care needs: My mom is FIERCELY independent and DOES NOT take well to not being in charge. She needs someone who will be understanding of that and come along side of her as a support and not make her feel threatened. My dad is super easy going and will pretty much get along with anyone.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and companionship.
